Ecotherapy

The land knows you even when you are lost. ~ Robin Wall Kimmerer

Experience the freedom to explore, express, and evolve in an atmosphere of genuine understanding and compassion.

Ecotherapy focuses on nature’s healing power through purposeful interactions with place – the natural landscapes, animals, birds, seasons, and unseen places all around us. The field of nature-based therapies can include: therapeutic horticulture, walk and talk, animal-assisted services, facilitated green exercise,  restorative environments, wilderness therapy and care farming.

I provide embodied opportunities for individuals to explore their relationship with nature (and themselves) through active engagement with the outdoors. Where traditional psychotherapy offers a safe place for deep and transformational work, the natural world also shows up for us in times of need and clarity. As an important practice in an ever-fast world, it can provide stress reduction, the easing of symptoms related to depression and anxiety, and other physical pains and illness.

I meet with clients, on-site, at the following locations:

  • Spring Lake/Lake Desire in Renton, WA.
  • Lake Wilderness Arboretum in Maple Valley, WA.
  • Lake Sawyer Park in Black Diamond, WA.
  • Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah, WA.
